Come to think of it, I'm now imagining a fic where the translator suddenly stops working, and random scientists are like, "Wait, you mean they weren't all speaking English?" And Rodney would of course be despairing at the intelligence of his colleagues. (Ronon, no doubt, would be able to communicate disturbingly well even without speaking the same language as everyone else.)
