Distract me with the shiny

La la la my mom is totally not reading my novel right now.

Does anybody know of any good icon communities? Especially something multi-fandom or just random? I'm getting a wee bit bored with what I have...

La la la...

I read through your last post a little late. But I have to say some things.

I really admire you a lot Anna. I don't think you know how much. You work hard, you recognize the things that you need improvement on. You are afraid of your mom's opinion but you've gotten this far, damn it, and that means that you are willing to rewrite and go all the way. You are only 21. To have gotten so far in so little time is little less than amazing. I am amazed by you.

Sarah, this is incredibly sweet and completely undeserved. But it really means a lot to me, coming from you, who works harder and pushes herself harder than anyone I know. I admire and am consistently in awe of your work ethic, and feel that in comparison I'm a very lazy person who reads a lot of internet porn and occasionally feels compelled to write something (often also porn). But I think we definitely have a lot in common in that we're both too hard on ourselves--you especially, I want to say, yet I recognize it in myself too. You amaze me, and to hear it runs both ways is extremely encouraging. I think we should both cut ourselves some slack (ha! So much easier said than done) but if we can't believe in ourselves, at least it's good to know that we can believe in each other.

Thank you. Really.
