I am enjoying this quite a lot. I like the twist you've given the Rachael/Damael character. And, man, I know this has more to do with the source material than with this particular adaptation of it, but I just love the empathy test. It's such a surreal device.
Just today I was fantasizing about writing a story in which Cas is a law enforcement agent who corrals Dean into helping him look for Sam, who's on the run from the law, having been (perhaps wrongly) accused of some terrible crime. (This line of reasoning was at least partially by the excellent song "Brother" by Murder By Death: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt2Sf2-o94g). But I don't think I have the stamina to execute this kind of story, so for the time being I'm just going to have to satisfy myself with this story. Looking forward to the next part.
