I followed coreopsis link here and I'm so glad I did. This is such a lovely meld of Pullman's world and Atlantis, and somehow each of the parts not only retains its integrety but becomes even stronger by association. Rodney and John and Teyla and Ronon (and how I laughed at Ronon in the infirmary!) were *themselves* but the daemons were themselves too and. Yes.

Which doesn't even mention the effect of the last line, the way it brings the story full circle. It made me want to sob, that Rodney unwittingly gives John and Nioke this gift.
