Is their dæmons' compatibility ever a factor?
I think so. Which is kind of why I liked the "opposites attract" aspect of Nioke/Tyk--I do think it fits their humans. Although now I'm sad that I had to cut a certain exchange. It was something like:
Rodney: You know, my mother always said, 'Never get involved with a person whose dæmon could eat yours.' John: Um...doesn't that rule out, like, 95% of the population for you? Rodney: I don't think she was too keen on the possibility of grandchildren.
