This was astoundingly good. I must read those books now. And I thought I didn't like AU fics. Wow! That's almost all I can say. Wow. This story drew me in, and it was startling when I had to click to part two, because I was so engrossed in the story. Beautiful writing, and the voices were wonderful.

This line: “Rodney,” John says, voice a low growl, almost a hiss. The word vibrates, rippling across his tendons like ivory-handled hammers coaxing strings, and when John inclines his head, Rodney surprises himself by lifting his own to meet it.

is one of the most wonderful I've read. Just beautiful, and so evocative of /Rodney/.
