It's just so...culminative. I can feel it. It's SO MUCH water passed over and John has done SO MUCH thinking and agonizing and spent so much of his life doing the church thing that his mindset and his frame of reference are all couched in Catholicism.
And you know, for all of the implied Rodney-scorn at the church and religion and all else that he put up, he's really being remarkably respectful of John's position which totally rings with me for Rodney. It's that way in which he mocks the military as an institution but always, always calls John by his rank. Excellent.
