Actually, I like the idea of Marcus. I like the idea of Lorne having a dodgy, dorky first name that doesn't suit him *at all* -- which is why absolutely everyone refers to him by his surname.

Of course, I partially blame this on scribewraith who was discussing a potential highschool AU and declared that Lorne's first name would have to be something really, really embarrassing to make him go by "Lorne" instead. (Her suggestion of "Washington" still makes me giggle.)
