God, it really was brilliant wasn't it? I just can't help thinking back over it myself :D

I have no answers for you, sorry. But you've brought up something interesting for me - I hadn't thought that Cas NEEDED Jimmy to be alive to possess him. Actually, my first thought was that Jimmy was gonna die of that gunshot wound and Cas would take him over like Ruby did with her current body. That whole 'imagine 100 years, imagine 1000' was then very confusing because I was thinking 'well, what? just let him die first.' But if he NEEDS Jimmy alive that explains it. Thank you... Although now I'll be bugged by not knowing why, of course :p

And my heart was fluttering like a mad thing at Dean's expression when Jimmy got shot! Although I read it more as 'OMG that guy ACTUALLY DOES look a lot like Cas always has doesn't he? And now he's gonna die so it's a bit like Cas dying and nooooo!'

God knows what they did to him upstairs (no pun intended) but they BETTER TELL US SOON AND FIX IT!

As to the nickname - I'm working on this theory that a name to an angel is attached to the way they project themselves, so others started calling Castiel 'Cas' because he sort of adopted the name/personality from Dean and so when other angels saw him they, um, SAW him as 'Cas' as opposed to Castiel. If that makes sense? Like the name was part of his aura or something and that physically changed when he started to think of himself as 'Cas.' Bah, I like the idea anyway :p

I may come back here later to rant more when I have more time if that's okay :) Or make a post like this of my own, who knows. This episode CANNOT be talked about enough!
