Anti-Prop 8 Drabblethon/Ficletathon/Love-In/Whatever

As most of you probably already know, the California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8, the gay marriage ban.

I am fucking pissed off.

[livejournal.com profile] bmouse and I are heading to a protest in about an hour, but I doubt that will be enough to vent all the anger and helpless rage from my system. So! Let's have a little love-in right here: gimme a prompt and I will do my best to write a drabble or ficlet for you. SPN, SGA, crossovers, whatever else you think I may know well enough to write. Due to the circumstances, slash or femslash preferred! Happy prompts preferred! Dean/Castiel preferred...okay, that last one is just me. You may also feel free to write me some of that here. ;-)

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to tackle before Thursday (my first day off in a week, GOD) but lay 'em on me and I'll do my best. And, you know—if anyone else wants to respond to any of the prompts, have at 'em! We can totally handle more than one response to some of these, I'm thinking.

Good on you both for protesting! I'm there in spirit if not there with a placard and a molotov cocktail.

My prompt is John/Rodney and something revolving around marriage - either doing it, discussing it, arguing over the pattern for the dinner sets...you know, those sick immoral things that government must protect us from by stripping basic human rights away.

Good luck at the protest! I wish I could go to one. I get so sick at heart when I think about it.

Can I have Dean/Castiel after the apocalypse has been averted? (Bonus if Sam and Bobby are wandering around in the background being awesome.)

Dean/Castiel, building a bomb for God

and also this might not count, but it does involve Neil Patrick Harris, who is slashy enough to maybe make it count? Barney/Robin, protest sex.

I would totally protest with you if I were in California. As it is I am sending angry, angry vibes.

John and Rodney -- aliens make them...not be married? Except that's not happy. Aliens make them date? Aliens make them get up in front of the class and name five things they like about each other?

John and Rodney get married for the 27th time :D

I love crossovers, if you could manage some SGA/SPN, with Rodney, and Sam having a past night together, and neither of their current lovers Rodney/John, and Sam/Dean, are to thrilled by this discovery. -SB

John and Rodney and summery things--ice cream! Porches! Fireflies!

Man, I don't get what people are so scared of when it comes to allowing gay marriage. Here in Canada, the entire country has had legal gay marriage since July 2005. It was controversial at the time, but the sky had not fallen for anyone since. Now it is seen by most people as a basic human right, (and boon for tourism). Good for you for protesting.

My happy prompt: Dean explains the awesomeness that is pie to Castiel. Hey, looking at the other prompts, what is the SPN equivalent of "aliens made them do it"?

I'm not sure how you feel about timestamps, but your last story has been with me all day...and while I'm not sure it could or should have a *happy* ending, I'd really like to see Dean find out or remember or learn what Cas did...whether through another angel being spiteful or Cas misspeaking or...

But if that isn't happy enough, just Dean seeing Cas for the first time after Cas defied the angels to 'rewrite the story' in 4x22.... I haven't gone looking for post-ep fic, and I know you won't make it too facile even if it is happy (of sorts :)

Rodney and John take the team ( or others, or just go themselves, )to the San Francisco protest while Atlantis is on Earth.

Yay for protets (both downtown and online) and boo to California. So effing disappointing.

If I was there I'd be protesting too.

Since I don't think anyone else has asked I'm going to suggest some femslash. Id love something involving the all girl team from SGA's Whispers.

Failing that, Madison is way too socially aware for Rodney's liking especially when she asks John questions about prop 8/their relationship. Bonus points for added Jeannie.

That really sucks. I'd hoped they'd show some sanity.

I would like to see Teyla get married to a woman. (Who? Your choice. SGA character, OFC, crossover, etc. Feel free to genderswap someone if you want to; I quite like the idea of Teyla/f!John, myself.)

Prompts: The proposal. Who asks? What's Athosian custom?

Or: Aliens make them participate in matrimonial rituals. Um, I mean, Teyla's teammates have to take part in her wedding as her adoptive family.
wychwood: O'Neill thinks this was a waste of a perfectly good explanation (SGA - O'Neill explanation)

[personal profile] wychwood 2009-05-28 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You should WRITE ME A STORY. It should be about JOHN and RODNEY, but PUDDLEJUMPER John and Rodney, and they should be at a protest or a pride concert or SOMETHING LIKE THAT. ALSO there should be *tries to think of annoyingly incongruous elements to include* OCTOPI.

Yes.

(alternatively... actually, a PJ ficlet would be really awesome. Failing that, something about a lesbian couple tying the knot on Atlantis?)

[identity profile] vanitashaze.livejournal.com 2009-05-29 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Better protesting than screaming, I always say, though the second is rather therapeutic too.

I'd love to see something about gay marriage on Atlantis. Is it legal there, and if so, who made that decision? As the aliens-in-house, do Teyla and Ronon approve? Does John? How do people react when a Lantean couple decide to tie the knot?

Failing that, of course, I'd be quite gleeful over some Larrin femslash. The world needs more hot Traveler lesbianism.
