Notify the committee!

Scene: [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone's Fables tutorial, a little after nine a.m.

Tutor: Let's talk about symbols. Say you have a candle. What does that represent?
[livejournal.com profile] trinityofone: A penis.
Student Who is NOT Batshit Insane: Light.
[livejournal.com profile] trinityofone's brain: No talking. Ever. Again.

Y'all wish you were in my class, doncha?

Also, GIP. [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve makes the bestest icons, doesn't she? Yes.

It's like - your entire flist is made up of mad funny geeks! It's the coolest place in town!

ROCK! I am officially cool by association!

I've heard good things about that show.

That particular snippet is especially priceless. And...relevant. *g*

Neal Stephenson does that even more than most - throwing you into the world so you work it out as you go along. I really enjoy his stuff, though. *sads*

I will try again. Seriously, he is on my "Try again, you lazy bitch!" list.

...I should have been a motivational speaker.

you read James Joyce, so you have no room to talk about people writing confusingly

Did I ever claim to have understood Ulysses? No, I did not. Because I...did not. ;-)

Dubliners, though...damn. *loves*

Milton is great. Paradise Lost in particular, but I also really like his sonnets. This is my favorite (http://rpo.library.utoronto.ca/poem/1451.html).

Your coolness brings all the fangirls to the yard! Or, um, something.

Yay! Try Snow Crash if you can, that was more of a general success, so is probably more accessible. Or else Zodiac, which isn't cyberpunk at all, but much more normal-story-like than his usual.

That's really nice. Also, ROCK ON MILTON YOU ARE SO RIGHT. Being immature and almost 24 is ok! Milton said so! Yay!
