Put another dime in the jukebox, baby.

First order of business: [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve is making awesome icons again. Yet she refuses to self-promote! So allow me to speak for her and say, CHECK OUT THESE AWESOME ICONS.

Second, [livejournal.com profile] fatuorum made a beautiful and clever cover for my fic The Bang and the Clatter.

Now go tell her how awesome it is! And/or snag the nifty matching wallpaper!

In a similar vein, I seem to be writing another AU. I don't know what's up with me, and this fandom, and AUs--I didn't write a single AU the entire time I was in Buffydom. Well, I wrote some things that were quickly jossed and thus ended up AUs, and I guess I wrote that one, "Well what if 'Pangs' happened like THIS?" story, but, like, I never wrote one where Buffy and Spike are flight attendants and also they FIGHT CRIME. Yet now I want to write the McKay/Sheppard version of that story. *smacks self*

Anyway, I'm enjoying this one so far *winks at [livejournal.com profile] jarsy, [livejournal.com profile] randomeliza, and [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve* but Rodney's being all weird and quiet, and it's starting to freak me out. So as distraction/inspiration/whatever, I'm gonna do this meme:

Comment on this post, and I will send you a song that reminds me of you or that I just think you'll really like. Mmm, mp3s.

Also, here is a picture of me and a kitten:

(Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] nenar!)

Because randomness WINS.

Ooh, pretty icons!

I love John's horns. Just, yes. Very cool.

Also, kitty! There can never be enough kitty pictures.

Oh, cool, thank you!
*tries to work out a way to listen to the Orbison without having to turn off the U2 version*

Naked Harrison Ford? You really know how to get my attention ;) Nah, actually, either way around sounds interesting. Replicants loose in Atlantis? I was more stuck on the "John is a sexy bounty hunter chasing replicants; Rodney is the mysterious scientist living alone in the crumbling tower block. Together THEY FIGHT CRIME they... do some stuff and snark a lot". But to be honest, if you wrote it, I'd read pretty much anything *g*

Oooh, I like the Orbison version. It's a totally different song, isn't it? I think I prefer the U2 one, but they're both very good. Thank you!

...I can see myself giving up on my anti-digital-music stance (I don't like not having the actual hard-copy CD, you know?) and buying the Unreleased album they have online :) Just... not any time soon! Have no money!

Also, unrelated: do you read my journal at all these days? I'm not trying to guilt you into it if you aren't ;) but sometimes I come across things that I think you'd find interesting, and I want to know if I should randomly leave them in comments, or whether you'd see them if I put them in posts :) Of course, if you don't *want* me pestering you with random junk (which would be, actually, the normal reaction... ;)) then say so! *shuts up*

Well, clearly I looked DEEP INTO YOUR SOUL.

Poor [livejournal.com profile] girl_clone. I gave her "Psycho Killer."

I like that picture of me because 1) KITTEN and 2) I look like I'm up to something. Also, KITTEN.

Er, by Iron and Wine. I fail at LJ.

Well, I gave in and am going with The Puddlejumpers. Even though I am still shaky on what exactly that MEANS. Even in the context of SGA.

And since I have unlocked these since you were here:

The Playboy Mansion - U2 (http://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=33ARF8RED2X3J1KMTDWE55FPVS)

I cannot take credit for the kitty collar as it is [livejournal.com profile] nenar's kitty and not mine. My cat does not tolerate collars--the few times we have tried to get him to wear one, they have mysteriously vanished the moment he is out of our sight. Perhaps we should check the nook above our cabinets!

And hmm, song.

Yeah, I miss that apartment and our living together a lot. And it's not just nostalgia--they were good times.

Got a few things for you:

Oh My God - Kaiser Chiefs (http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3M9MHLVZIZLQY0MIEJUI1EWQUD)

KITTEN HERE I COME!!!

I approve of Sarah Harmer. I think she's kind of a cross of Sarah McLaughlin (but with less pretension) and Sheryl Crow (but with a better voice.) The one that made me love her was The Hideout (http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=114Z2K5947C9U3IY0R397ME6TP) but my favorite is Around This Corner (http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1C3XQM8CEQ96G20GHQZD05XWR8). Because it's bouncy.

And whee! I have not heard this song (or this artist) before and I am liking it. Very much. Thank you!

You totally look like you're up to something. Heh.

And wow, that's a gorgeous song. Very... moving I think is the best word, like watching a distant car driving along the opposite shore of a lake.[/pretentious :D]

Hounds of Love - Kate Bush (http://s62.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0KW24P4BEXXB20VYJ769TI9A2)

If you like this, you should check out more Kate Bush--she's weird and wonderful!

Oh, I'm glad you like it! For some reason, I wanted to do something...oceany for you. Luckily, I have a whole "ocean" playlist... *is dork*

[identity profile] claire.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Although I do approve of the song choice ;)

[identity profile] trinityofone.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Good! Unless...did you have it already? Do you want something else?

[identity profile] claire.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no! It's a song I've always liked, but I didn't have it already. Thank you!

I want a song, please! A song for meeeeee! (Or, you know, a song that makes you happy. Whichever.)

[identity profile] trinityofone.livejournal.com 2006-02-09 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
You, me, and Hermione, eh? We should be proud! But the real question is...does Hermione have the same awesome taste in music that we do?

And do you already have this? 'Cause that'd be weird.
