Well, I'm back.
I made it! I am safely in L.A., luggage and dignity mostly intact (though my box of Jaffa Cakes got kind of smooshed).
Thank you for all the comments wishing me a safe trip. I was at the very back of the plane (last row! seriously!) so it was kind of "gah!" at the time, but I made it, and that's what counts.
I read all of The Secret History and was thus kind of edgy for most of the flight, but it saved me from having to watch Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
Los Angeles is nice. I have already eaten: 1) mango, and 2) guacamole. And tomorrow I get to see
spazatron! For yay!
I am very, very tired (it is three o'clock in the morning in Ireland and that's still where my clock's set) and thus probably incoherent. But I still went to the bookstore (the Barnes & Noble where I used to work, and let me just say, I can never shop there again; the possibility of running into someone I know is too terrifying) and bought Black Powder War, for yay again!
Soon, I believe, I shall pass out.
But first let me just say:
L.A. fen! Hiiiiiiiiiii! We should hang out!
Just, not today. *faints*

I hope you're sleeping now so that you're well rested by the time tomorrow rolls around, even if you're still on Ireland time.
Any idea what you want to do? Movie, more book shopping, watching a show of some sort?

My parents were really nice and fixed my cell phone, so the old number should work. Gimme a call when you want!
I don't really know what I want to do. What are you in the mood for?

Coasters represent!
You = 9 hours of flying + jetlag
Me = 12 hours of driving + heavy downpours THE WHOLE TIME
Us = ded.

Pee Ess: I am glad you got back safe!

You're awesome.
And...it's way too early for me to be up. Yay jetlag!

And it is very early for you to be awake. Maybe you should write porn? *hopeful!*

I should write porn. Maybe when I'm a little less spacey? Right now I mostly want to read it.
How's Ireland doing without me?

When do you leave for Italy again? I need to know precisely when I need to start being excruciatingly jealous of you.

My flight leaves at 1950 Irish time; I'm getting in at 2355 CET. I'm sure there will be squeeing posts from Eliza and myself to announce my arrival.

I demand pictures from both you and Eliza! And possibly audio of the two of you saying, "Ciao!"

I'm sure we'll be spamming LJ merrily as we go along. *g*

There might even be a video of us riding merrily along on a vespa. But I might be making that up. *g*

Oooh Black Powder War - I'm getting that sent to me, eventually. *impatient sigh*
Anyway, glad you made it back safely! Enjoy LA!

You mean you've already got someone sending it to you? 'Cause I'm sending my copy to Siria when I'm done, and then it's going to make the rounds (

Mmm Ploughmans. That was one of my favourite meals in hall - we always had it with curly fries and it was fantabulous. It's amazing how something so simple can be so damn good.
I wish there were some magical land where I could have my every food-craving-related need met for me. Like... guacamole with haggis with Irn Bru with manti with kumru with ayran, etc. Maybe when I rule the world...

I'm glad you had a safe flight. Now get some sleep. (And then start networking with fen. ;) )

Cheaper by the Dozen is not so bad. 'tis fun! But then, I have kids, and anything's better than The Rugrats in Paris.

Are you at all interested in meeting for coffee in LA? Or tea. Or tofrutti dreamscicles. Or soy nonfat latte half fat.... er, yeah.
