PJ Magazine Cover Manips

Microsoft Word is not working on my work computer, which is kind of bad, considering that my job involves writing. I really want today to be over. And don't even ask me about the you-know-what last night.

On the plus side, [livejournal.com profile] slytherindyke made awesome manips of The Puddlejumpers' magazine covers. SO COOL.

ETA: I'm bored and I can't write. Heeeeeeelp!

I don't know if they let you install stuff on your computer there, but you might be able to get away with OpenOffice for the time being. It has some level of compatibility with MS Office (your mileage may vary) and is a pretty competent suite. I don't know how it is at your company, but they probably have some geeks on staff for you to bug.

If you're not supposed to install files, but have some flexibility, you might want to check out the Portable Apps version:

But Writerly is supposed to be a good quick alternative too.

Have you tried Writely.com (http://www.writely.com)? It's an in-browser word processor. Basically saved my life at work. No more emailing copies of my stories to myself so that I could work on them when I found time. It takes three seconds to sign up.

OH, and it has a great collab. feature so betaing becomes the easiest thing in the world.
