DEAN GAVE CAS HIS NECKLACE. HE GAVE CAS. HIS NECKLACE. WHICH FINDS GOD. WHICH I TOTALLY HAVE A REPLICA OF THAT I WEAR EVERY DAY. AASKJFHKAJSGFK.
I am sorry. I am not over this and am unlikely to be over it any time soon. DEAN GAVE CAS HIS NECKLACE. That is on so many levels freaky symbolic that I don't even know where to start. Jesus Christ.
You know, before the episode aired,
aesc and I were talking about our insane shippery wishes (one of which was Castiel in the Impala, which it looks like we get next week, yay!) and this was nowhere NEAR the list, I think because we couldn't even CONCEIVE of it happening. The closest I could get was the image of the necklace and a vial containing Cas' grace both being worn together, tangling with each other when Dean moved—and I actually still like that better, as there's none of the feeling of Sam being replaced. Which I don't think he is/will be long-term, but especially considering where this episode ended up, and what next week seems like it will be, WOW.
ETA: AND HE DID IT BECAUSE OF DEAN. I almost forgot my keyboard mashiness over that, in part because I got spoiled for it...yesterday or whenever with the Space promo appeared, and in part because of NECKLACE. I need to rewatch that scene um, several times, and maybe eventually I will be able to say something intelligent.
I actually don't have a lot to say about the rest of the episode. I thought it was fun, I thought Ellen was AWESOME, I wish Jo had been in it more (because I've always REALLY LIKED JO, darn all you haters!), and I was vastly relieved that Ellen and Jo and Rufus all survived. That was my big worry, so I'm just very :D that I don't have to be furious at the show for killingevery cool female character ever them.
Though Kripke and Co. kind of do owe Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, like, a fruit basket at the very least. I liked the Good Omens-y vibe at the end of last season (Team Humanity vs. both Heaven and Hell!), and I still like it here, just. The red car and everything? Though GO's War could totally kick this War's ass. Just sayin'.
Random:
1. The sigils Cas carved into their ribs look AWESOME. Forget the tattoo (actually, don't forget the tat, it rocks), I want THAT.
2. "God is not on any flatbread." AHAHAHAHA. Oh, Cas. NEVER CHANGE.
3. That was totally the scene where Jared kept grabbing Misha's ass, wasn't it?
4. Oh, Dean and your Lord of the Rings references. You are such a dork. Don't even try to pretend you aren't. Your Team Geek tee will arrive in the mail shortly.
5. DEAN GAVE CAS HIS NECKLACE FOR SERIOUS. If Cas shows up wearing it at any point, I may actually die.
REALLY IMPORTANT ETA2: WAS CAS RESURRECTED WITH A DIFFERENT TIE? Like, it looks black to me now instead of blue. Or is my TV just screwy? I LIKE THE VAGUELY RIDICULOUS BLUE TIE!
Okay, off to eat celebratory Winchesternalia kogi. (We already had pie.)

I've seen at least three posts of people upset that Dean gave Castiel that necklace. Yeah, let's totally not give the angel out looking for God the one item that can find the dude, sure. :ROLLS EYES DRAMATICALLY, OH SPN:
If Castiel ends up wearing the necklace, I will choke. They're already REALLY PUSHING the UST.

When I heard at Comic-Con that they were doing the horsemen, I was like, "LOL, like GO!" But I didn't think it would be that like GO. I bet they're going to be collecting items (like the ring) from each of them too, which will somehow end up being crucial. But, well, if you're gonna rip something off...it's a good thing to pick! Even though Red could still kick Roger's ass.
The UST is delicious. *fans self*

...maybe they're horcruxes! (does that make God Dumbledore?)

I guess he'll approve of Dean and Cas, then.

GO's War is still inherently cooler, though, possibly because she's much subtler, doesn't monologue, and has a nifty sword. :)

MotorcyclistsHorsemen) as evil or malignant, which just isn't the case.I don't remember who said it first, but if Famine ends up being the token girl, I will rage.

But while I think Cas is a sneaky angel who's not beyond pulling a fast one, I don't really see the point of him lying about this. I could be wrong, though.

Never mind, it's back now! Thanks for the mindfuck, LJ!
(Having a paid account and being able to edit comments is awesome. This is my first time so I am excited.)

I don't really see the point of him lying about this. I could be wrong, though.
If he did lie, I could kind of understand it since he's just lost everything (as he said) because he trusted Dean, and now he seems to be feeling a little raw about it. So his asking Dean for something in return, while giving so little information back, might be his way of leveling the score somewhat - although, not productive to the building of future trust.
I also get the sense that Castiel has sort of given up on Sam and Dean at this point, and he thinks that finding God is the only option they have left, so his mission is far more important in his eyes that anything else the Winchesters might be doing.

gah, I know, right? I get all melty every time I think of that scene. (And a wee bit heartbroken, but in a good way, you know?)

So! Yes to ALL this!
And bonus points for the Jo Ellen love. I wish we could see more of them - I hope we do.

That is all.

Also: no wimpy friendship bracelets for those two! Straight to the good stuff!
Alos Also: I ♥ Jo from the start, and through all the times I saw her! Nearly thought I was the only one!
