Am I the only one who really didn't like that at all? The plot was Good Omens Lite, but not as cool (whereas "Good God, Y'All" was, I dunno, Good Omens Raspberry Flavor or something—derivative but still fun). They clearly did not know what to do with Castiel at all, which I find ridiculous, as I can think of many, MANY things to do with Castiel. (Some of them are even appropriate for television!) And you know, I don't think they really knew what to do with Dean, either, except use him as comic relief. I had similar problems with "After School Special" last year—same writers, and while I think they do give good Sam, I feel a disconnect with the way they write Dean. The LOLs are there, but it's a very shallow portrayal, and coupled with the TOTAL WASTE OF CASTIEL, COME ON YOU GUYS, AFTER NOTHING LAST WEEK, REALLY? I just...bleh.

Also, even though he was clearly, clearly lying, and with good reason, when Dean said Cas wasn't his friend, I kind of felt like I'd been stabbed in the heart. I've had some tequila though, so maybe later we can blame this on my being a weepy drunk.

I should go to bed, and in the morning write some porn to make myself feel better. *nods*

You're right about Dean being very shallow in this episode, and I'll probably agree later when I get over the far jokes. Apparently I am also nine.

P.S. From all the recent episode stills in good lighting, I'd say the tie hasn't changed. Or maybe he just has more than one.

I'm usually nine, too—I recently wrote a fic that contained an extended poo joke. Did I get mature all of a sudden last night? Was the alcohol forcing me to be over 21? WTF?

Maybe Castiel keeps his spare ties in his pockets with Dean's whoopee cushion? I wonder what else he has in there? Since it's Blatantly Rip Off Neil Gaiman Week, Cas' coat is becoming more and more like the Marquis de Carabas' in my mind. Cas, have you checked for God IN YOUR COAT?

FYI, I think I enjoyed your recap at least 14 times more than the episode itself. :)
