God, there is nothing I hate more than waiting. I have a very clear list of goals for myself for tomorrow, but that doesn't help me tonight, nor does it stop me from feeling emotionally in limbo. Why can't I have a clean break? I already feel like I don't live here anymore; I just want to be back in L.A. and have it be done.

serialkarma actually convinced me to join because the summaries were so hilarious. So yeah, I've seen that I've been...popular lately.

My favorite description of one of my stories?

Okay so it was McShep and it was about Rodney wanting to have a threesome with a girl because he's with John and he figured John's hot enough to get any girl, but John just wants to be all gay with Rodney and doesn't tell him because he thinks that Rodney really wants the threesome so they pick up a girl, with a really unusual name that I can't remember, before John tells Rodney that he'd rather just be all gay with him. I'd look around for it myself, but I'm fairly lazy and you guys just rock at finding things.

Hee! But still not as good as the one where John is homophonic.

Oh, I know how hard transitions are. I don't deal with change well AT ALL. It sucks. But picking up and starting afresh, or going back to a place you haven't been in a while, makes you appreciate everything you've got more. You don't want a clean break, believe me. When you've left part of you somewhere, it just makes certain that you come back to retrieve it. And that "emotionally in limbo" thing is only appropriate for being physically in transit - once you get to where you're going, it'll stop. For now, go find someplace quiet and very, very Irish to sit, and soak in the last of your time in that wonderful place. Alternately, find some really good porn. Hey, it always helps me... *g*

I'm not sure it counts as a distraction, but on a completely random note: I was wandering through Newcastle yesterday, and I stumbled across a guitar store called McKay's Music. Being the total fangirl I am, I immediately thought "Ooh, bandverse!" and took a picture. Hooray for reality providing fic-fodder.
