I've often been distressed by the fact that, while I can happily ship most of the other characters with many people on the show, John I can really only see as being happy with Rodney. Which adds a sad note to, say, the fluffy-adorable Rodney/Teyla & Ronon/Jennifer narrative recent episodes have made me want to construct in my head. Where does that leave poor John? I've thought. But ah-ha! Because along with canon tentacle porn and Wraith blowjob jokes, this season has seen fit to give us a solution to this quandary! Because clearly, as tonight's episode asserts, the ultimate SGA pairing is actually John/John.

Yes, I think it's clear: the OTest OTP is obviously John's magnificent quest to find love and acceptance and smoking hot sex in the arms of...himself.

Ladies and...ladies, start your fic engines! Ready, set—GO!





And the sad part is, I'm not even really kidding. *blush*

You know, this episode totally shocked me with that moment, not because I was surprised (which I wasn't) John could rival Rodney in self-congratulatory-ego-stroking, but because he's so damn territorial, I always expected him to do his smirk equivalent of growling when faced with another!Sheppard.
Honestly, every single instance we've previously had of John facing a different John, he's been standoffish (and, yeah, those were either evil!Johns or replicator!Johns, so... point) but even with the whole Rodney-Rod-Repli!Rodney, he always seemed astounded McKay would be able to look pass the other-him thing and get into Double-him-YAY!

I don't know if I'm being coherent. It's 7:23 am here, and I've yet to go to bed. Damn SGA induced insomnia.

Yeah, it's true, this differed greatly from previous experiences. Maybe it's 'cause this other!John just saved his life, and our!John knew he would be leaving very soon, so there was nothing to be territorial over?

Or maybe John's just realized that Rodney's approach to life is correct and astute in all things. *nods*
