Wow, I am nervous about posting this. But rather than repeatedly fussing with little details and not doing my, y'know, job, I'm just going to...do it.
So here's my longest solo SGA fic to date. *bites nails*
Title: A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Category: AU
Length: ~25,000 words
Summary: Rodney had always figured himself for a man born in the wrong era.
A/N: For
reel_sga, based on The Searchers. Many thanks to
amireal,
cathexys,
fairestcat, and
randomeliza for their help and suggestions.

Continuing from yesterday's theme, I wrote a story for
sga_flashfic's Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll challenge. Not a Puddlejumpers story, I'm afraid, but it's got music in it. Multimedia, yay.
Title: The No. 1 All-Time Top Frivolous Use of Time Travel
Rating: PG
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Length: ~1800 words
Summary: Oh, like you wouldn’t.
The No. 1 All-Time Top Frivolous Use of Time Travel
Have I mentioned how psyched I am that people like Bootleg? Because I am, I really am. Thank you all, so much.
And speaking of AUs,
out_there just wrote an awesome one: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot. If the premise alone isn't enough to sell you--Rodney's a professor at Berkeley and John's a San Francisco dance instructor (hi, Bay Area! I miss you!)--then let me tell you: this fic stays true to both of them, has some blindingly hot moments, and never takes the easy way out. And it's long. *bliss*

The SGA Classic Movie Challenge
Apr. 19th, 2006 11:19 amYes, it's that time! (Really this time. *g*) Yay!

CHALLENGE ANNOUNCEMENT: THE SGA CLASSIC MOVIE CHALLENGE
Ever thought that Sheppard and McKay would make a great screwball comedy couple? Ever wondered if Cadman had the potential to be a luminous Hitchcock blonde? Ever suspected that Weir and Zelenka might secretly be as fleet-footed as Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire? Then this is the challenge for you!
In this challenge, you'll be able to choose a prompt of a movie title and summary for a classic film from the 1930s to the 1960s. You will then use this summary to write a story of at least a thousand (1,000) words or create a piece of art either based directly on the film or extrapolating from it. Stories can fit directly into the canon SGA-verse, or can be complete AUs—it's up to you. Any genre or rating is allowed—stories can be as cracked out or as hard-boiled noirish as you want. Gen, het, and slash stories are all welcome and encouraged.
Sign-ups open today, April 19th, 2006, and close at midnight PST on April 26th. All works are due by June 16th.
We have created a community for the challenge,
reel_sga. To sign up, please read the comm's info post, and choose your prompt. We look forward to making movie magic with you!
