I think part of the problem is that they pretend to know what we want, but they don't really. And they don't want to know. Not really. It's easier to pretend to be the leader, pretending that experience brings wisdom, when there's a lot more involved in being successful. And same for me and Dr. Who. I recently bought the first three seasons with money I had set aside. And I'm waiting to get this last season in full. I really liked the first season of Lost, but they added more cast members, when they couldn't figure out what to really do with the little they had to begin with. And in the end, they pretty much ruined the characters people cared about.
I think you have to be a rejected fry cook in order to run a network. Any network, really.
