[livejournal.com profile] akukorax and I have adopted an adorable new kitty! Lookit:

Now we need a name for the little feller. So far, from one day's observation, we know that he is a Russian Blue (so maybe something Russian?), he was the runt and is adorably wee (so Behemoth is out), and he likes very much to snack on our toeses (also Korax and I are dorks, so maybe something dorky?).

[Poll #1277305]

Eeeee, kitteh! WE CAN HAS!

But my suggestion is lame and dorkish and related to fandom you are probably not in.

He is an adorable kitten. If you wanted to call him something Russian, Koshka is cat in Russian.

OMG, so cuuuute!

So cute that my brain is just going "kitty!" and I can't think of any names at all.

Kitty!

ETA: actually, in those photos he looks a bit like Merlin doing magic in the new BBC thingy. but that may be because I am slightly obsessed with it at the moment.

A runt Russian that likes to bite toes and is surrounded by titans in whatever it tries to do?

Medvedev.

I think you should name him Let's Learn Judo With Vladimir Putin (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/lets-learn-judo-with-vladimir-putin-954578.html)!

Yes.

Or ... Borscht. That's a good name for a cat.

I think Pavel is a great name (Star Trek) and it actually means "small" in Russian.

I suggested Tovarisch, which means "comrade"-- I've been watching/reading way too much Man From U.N.C.L.E. lately. But I like the suggestion of Radek as well. :D

Kitteh is ADORABLE.

It's not that exciting a story: basically, Korax's coworker found Kitteh abandoned but couldn't keep him herself, so we decided to step up. Lucky us, eh? :D

Oh my god, he is adorable! I've always thought Sasha a wonderful name; I believe it's short for Alexander, but my ignorance of Russian is as vast as the steppes.

I want a kitty. *sniff*

what an adorable ball of fuzziness!

um, since he's a Russian Blue, how about "Russian-izing" his name with a Russian prefix or suffix (http://eleaston.com/rel/rel4a.html)?

Radek would ROCK!

(also, go with other Russian names -- it's the same in Russian for 'happy dude.)

In add'n to the ones I had in poll -- try Paltza (foot-related), or Paltza Nogi (toes)

Oh, he's adorable. I have no clue what the actual words are but what about Russian for Blue, Little, or Grey (since that seems to be his primary color). Yup, I'm highly original. *g*

Seeing as I'm Polish, I think I know better. There's a difference between "is a distant derivative of" and "means". Radek doesn't mean anything in contemporary Polish.

I just wanted to say that the kitteh is SO CUTE. Also that I now kind of wish there were purple cats, so I could get one and call it Borscht, cause it would amuse me FOREVER.

I also wish to add 'Vlad', 'Piotr', and maybe also Nikolai to my list of suggestions. :)
