What a cool story. I like the way you think about things, there's an element of the unexpected about some of your writing, a bit "Twilight Zone", which I love! I would definitely like to read more in this vein; I just read "Serpent and Staff", which had a similar quality and was definitely "out of the box"; hits all my buttons!
