Yow. You had me on the edge of my seat for this one, such that I am now going to be late. Did you read Knight's Castle when you were little? I loved that book, and this is like a grown-up version of what happens to three of the characters in there. Except that in the book it happens off-screen, for which thank god - I mean, it's a book for kids. (And was still enough to leave me afraid of dolls and dollhouses for the rest of my life.)
Anyway. Loved this. Brilliant and twisty and oddly real.
