I'm back from Scotland! I had an absolutely fabulous time--it's a great country, full of terrific people, and I want to go back, like, now. Or before the end of the school year, definitely. Anyway, as I'm sure you can guess, I took some pictures, so here is a brief (and extremely geeky) account of what we did.

siriaeve and I had a unique way of getting to Glasgow... )

Oh well. Back to the real world.

Today has been like the magic day of magic packages. First, I got the prezzies from [livejournal.com profile] nenar and [livejournal.com profile] lordelessar--thank you so much, guys! Then I got a care package from my parents, including wintergreen Altoids (thank God--I was on the verge of serious withdrawal here), Skittles (the European ones just don't taste right) and, oddly, toilet paper. I'm going to assume this was meant as extra--but useful!--padding, and not as some sort of subtle hint.

This was joyous enough already, but then, then--I got an anonymous package of amazing looking sweets...and dog tags. Dog tags. DOG TAGS. *hyperventilates* Oh my God! Thank you so much, anonymous person! This is the best gift ever--the best Valentine's Day ever! I don't know how to thank you, but you have made me so unbelievably happy. Thank you, thank you. Thank you.

Now...would it be too dorky if I got trinityofone engraved on them? Or John Sheppard?

ETA: And some other anonymous person gave me virtual chocolates! *blushes* Thank you!

The lesson here was supposed to be, “If you want kiltporn written, write it yourself!” The final result was closer to, “If you want kiltporn written, you’ll end up with almost 2,000 words of John!angst (with incidental kiltporn) and have to be satisfied with that, dammit!” So, um, yes. Can we just blame this on Valentine’s Day, maybe?

Title: Manu Forti
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Length: ~1850 words
Summary: John is forty-six and he is not the one getting married. Um, and also, there are kilts.
A/N: [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve dragged me with her to Scotland and thus inadvertently spawned this story; she also did double-duty and beta’d. Thank you—you’re the best evil co-conspirator ever.
