Oh. My. Lord. This was an *amazing* piece of fusion fic. I have read the Dark Materials series, and loved it, and, for a while after I read them the first time, I was obsessed with daemons, because they are the ultimate window into somebody's soul. They *are* that person's soul, in some ways, and they are the most creative and useful plot device evar :P. And you took complete advantage of that. The thing with Radek's "bunny" and her ears twitching when Radek is amused. The whole level with John and Nioke and flying and that whole scene with the mongoose and the snake :P Riki Tiki Tavi indeed. In any case, amazing work, great characterization, wonderful utilization of the levels the daemons provide. So much <3 :P And for the record, I totally think that Caldwell's daemon should be a kimodo dragon :D
