This was simply gorgeous. The fusion was flawless - it felt *right*, all the time. And the style fitted wonderfully too - it had the feel of Pullman's writing, but all the characterisation was unmistakably Stargate Atlantis. And you managed to keep me on the edge of my seat, panicking when John was carried away, full of amazed happiness when Nioke reaches out to Rodney at the end. This is a story that I'm going to want to read over and over.
BTW, this site (http://www.bridgetothestars.net/) is very useful when it comes to HDM writing. There's even a timeline, which is great if you're as hopeless as me at remembering when something happened.
