I have never read HDM but your primer was all I needed to get a grasp of what I had to. And your writing is fantastic. So well done I just didn't want it to end. You created a story based on a concept I'd never heard of before and made me love it. I may read the books or I may not, I have a feeling I might be disappointed after this. Especially because in the books apparently touching another human's daemon is verboten, which you just wrote so well. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what Nioke was going to describe about Rodney touching her. You made that "weird proposition" scene at the end so hot it was smouldering. Thanks for sharing this amazing piece of writing!
