I was rec'd by [livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine; I can die happy.

Seriously. If I get run over by a bus tomorrow (possible; I keep forgetting to look the right way) it's okay, because I will be remembered as the person who wrote the sexy mouse-touching story. That is a legacy I am totally, totally cool with. Really. You can put it on my tombstone.

To tie this into RL, here's the other reason I can die happy:

Not a Paradox!

If I have to die, I want it to be with my boots on; and if I'm dying with my boots on, I want it to be these. *g*

Finally, in honor of [livejournal.com profile] ilgattopardo, I present:

The Marks & Spencer Pre-Made Meal of the Day

And today we have..."Chicken breast in a chunky tomato sauce with basil mash." Mmm, it's just like my mom's chicken with tomatoes and mushrooms...only nowhere near as good.

Now remember all those comments I was supposed to reply to yesterday? Yeah, well. Gonna go do that now. I think.

Heh heh, thanks! Mmmm, Marks & Sparks... They have them in Athens, too, but for some reason without the food hall! A bit like Ulysses without the city of Dublin, really.

I keep forgetting to look the right way
I've been so busy lately hopping between America, the British Isles and Europe (you can tell I'm a Brit at heart when I speak of "Europe" as a place one goes to) that I'm totally messed up, crossing streets, driving, you name it. Athens has got me into the habit of always looking both ways before I step into traffic -- not only are there random one-way streets all over the place, messing up the 'proper' way to look -- but all the drivers ignore them anyway! The best part about the Britain & Ireland is that the buses drive down city streets so narrow that the speeding death-machines are only about a foot clear of the pavement to begin with. Not a lot of margin for pedestrian error. Maybe it's their way of introducing a Darwinian cull of 'unfit' Americans?

Oh, and nice boots!

I would, but I don't have the right kind of gorram adapter for my camera, so I can't charge it. Something I shall try to rectify this weekend...

Go you! :D

Thanks! I don't know whether to do a Sally Field "You like me, you really like me" or invert that bit from Freaks: "One of them! One of them!" But at least my cultural references are pleasingly diverse. ;-)

Imagine you had to drive.

Oh God, don't say that. Just thinking it is enough to send pedestrians running for cover.

By the way, staring at your new batch of icons has eaten my life. *curses you*

The tags are actually way less visible on the actual boots. And you can always tuck them in, making them invisible.

Yeah, what's the point of M&S without the Food Hall? Clothes, schmothes--I want yummy cheap sandwiches!

The best part about the Britain & Ireland is that the buses drive down city streets so narrow that the speeding death-machines are only about a foot clear of the pavement to begin with.

Oh, are the buses supposed to do that? And here I just thought they were trying to kill me. (There's a handsome reward. *g*)

I'd go with the Sally Field approach, especially since I had to look up the Freaks reference on imdb.com. ;)

I'm ashamed to admit that I send pedestrians running for cover on a regular basis, without having the excuse of driving in another country.

It's the JF! You cannot resist!
