Hmmmm....if I had to pick? I think Rodney would top. Because somehow it counterbalances this seemingly ongoing thought that John=hot therefore gets to pick and Rodney=geek therefore has to sit around waiting to be picked.
I think Rodney is far hotter than John personally (mmmm....DH.....), even though JF is technically better looking, and hence John seeing that and Rodney topping would somehow redress the imbalance.
Not to go on and on in your journal either, but John is a control freak hiding behind a laid-back exterior and though we've seen Rodney metaphorically bend over and take it (cf Trinity) for John to let someone else take over seems like much more of a trust thing - so him trusting Rodney to that extent seems like a huge declaration on John's part that he possibly could never even voice.
However, I do see them as having a very equal relationship, quite simply because they are both naturally forceful and intelligent and lack what the other has in abundance.

And you're welcome to use me as your physics/astrophysics tool. Though as long as you have everything obey the law of conservation of momentum then you're doing a better job than most sci fi I can tell you!
