forcryinoutloud and I are thinking of running an SGA Classic Movie Ficathon, in which participants would get to pick a film from the '30s-'60s and write an SGA story based on the movie itself, or extrapolated from the summary and taken in the crazy direction of your choice. (The ones I'm really hoping get written?
The Shop Around the Corner, His Girl Friday, North by Northwest, The Searchers...well, and loads more, really.) So, what we want to know is: would you all be interested in something like that?

Any other thoughts? Questions? Suggestions? I've never run a ficathon before, so I'd really appreciate any advice/words of caution/hysterical pointing-and-laughing...

Date: 2006-04-05 04:56 pm (UTC)(I - I promise I'm still working on the Red Shoes AU. I'm just so in love with the idea of a scruffy Sheppard as Bogart and McKay as Katherine Hepburn. Who wouldn't be?)

Date: 2006-04-05 05:22 pm (UTC)What's the difference between a ficathon and a challenge?
Um. I don't know.

Date: 2006-04-05 05:23 pm (UTC)Possibly the best part of this ficathon would be having to watch the assigned movie again. Possibly again and again, depending on the movie. ;)

Date: 2006-04-05 05:25 pm (UTC)But I totally get what you mean with the tutorial. For mine, I was stuck with 4 most boring (omg, i'd rather be dead boring) people... at least the tutor was okay.

Date: 2006-04-05 05:27 pm (UTC)Or Katherine Hepburn. Or Jimmy Stewart.
I hope we can make this work. Because as an idea? It WINS.

Oh, God. Don't mind me, I'll be over here drinking green potion and taking notes on The African Queen (which is so going to be The Athosian Queen when I'm done with it).
