I think you're on the right track with mentioning it to her and should keep track of what you wrote and what happened with it. In my past job, the rewriters had it too easy to claim my stuff was impossible and they had to slave for hours to rewrite, so if you keep asking at least they can't claim you were too lazy to learn.
