Well, so I told myself I that I would wait to come back until I had some really epic fic to post. And…I do. Only…it’s a big Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes crossover WIP.

*crickets*

Yeah.

Anyway, I’m going to be posting this—while still a WIP—for three reasons.

1) It’s clearly going to be REALLY LONG.
2) Posting the first part will mean I have to finish it, unlike the 10,000 other unfinished things on my HD.
3) siriaeve’s making me.

And yeah, also because I have been really, REALLY into these shows lately and have had no one to talk to about them (despite practically hitting ebrooklynw over the head and making her watch a few episodes), and I figure having something to “contribute” will be a good way to meet other fans. And/or, a good way to lure all you lovely SGA people over to this particular fandom patch. Though to be honest, I wouldn’t recommend reading my upcoming story unless you are familiar with the canon. It'll spoil everything and not make much sense.

So, yeah. Sorry for the somewhat cockteasy post. Fic to come soon, probably tomorrow. More pimpage too. And I will try not to be a big lame wuss and disappear again.

ETA: Wow, my LJ looks crappy. It's like coming back to a vacation house and finding it covered in cobwebs. (I mean, I assume it is—never actually had a vacation house myself.) Does LJ no longer support banners for unpaid accounts? That's kind of dickish of them. Also, has my color scheme always been this emo? Was I really into the White Stripes when I chose this? WTF?

Life on Mars is way awesomer than Supernatural! (And I say this as someone who considers the one major perk of her new job at a Chevy magazine to be the chance to edit copy about Impalas, so I can dazzle Dean with my new knowledge if there is ever an interdimensional incident of much awesomeness.) Both contain manly man pain and homoeroticism and car porn. Not to mention evil clowns.

Ashes to Ashes is its spin off. Not as good, but still quite fun.

Interested? I might know where some episodes may have fallen off the back of a truck *cough*

As for your banner, ask siri if it's still up in your webspace (I'm hosting it right?) there was an unplanned hiccup, I haven't noticed any data loss, but who knows. Also make sure your css is pointing to the right place. Also if LJ allows banners on free LJs. *G*

Have seen first 4 eps of Ashes to Ashes and am not sure if I like it, I spend to much time being horrified and embarrassed at the sexual harassment and sexism she has to put up with and saying Was it really that bad in 1981? OMG REALLY? I continue to love Gene Hunt though!

Ooh, yes: I LOVE that vid. So clever and well done. Plus, that song is totally addictive.

The sexism in A2A doesn't bother me so much (I've dealt with worse shit at work recently); my issues with it stem more from the feeling that the creators don't really know what the show's about anymore. Still, the fun bits and the AWESOME AMAZING HOTNESS OF GENE HUNT sufficiently outweigh that, I think. ;-)

It's definitely worth watching. It's also definitely not as good as LoM, but despite some headdesky moments, I enjoyed it a ton and am really looking forward to next season.

I wanted to ask you about your fic 'Office Hours'.

I ran across it while surfing thru the 'fic' tag on your LJ and I found two entries listed as being 1 of 3 & 2 of 3 with a message saying 3 of 3 would come after 'exams' (??) were over but going thru the 'archive' I can't find anything else.

Did you ever post part 3 or did the fic sorta fizzle out?
