Do I want to torture myself by watching the Life on Mars US pilot that's begun making the rounds today? I'm having a hard time gauging my own level of masochism.
that's it. Your dad needs to get his new car. so you can have yours ;). They have put me on anti-biotics and i'm supposed to see improvement in 48 hours.
Turn it into a drinking game! Everytime you feel a bit of your soul dying take a drink. Hell, take a couple. If it turns out to be really, really bad you'll never remember any of it anyway.
dood. i totally read "pornification with liquor". hooooo boooy! we should all be so lucky! oh and nix on the life on mars american-style. i have a migraine just thinking about the mass of evil badness that must be.
Wow, that is not a choice I envy! Hmm.. if you have booze and people to flail at (and who maybe you can trust to not let you pause it, so it's over faster?) then I would vote do it, just cause if it was me then I know I'd just keep wondering about it, if I didn't. However, if you fear it will actually make you puke and/or break your television irreparably, I would vote no. :)
I hope so, because the preview they showed at the upfronts was not promising. The entire audience seemed to agree with me. And that's too bad, because the British version of this show rocked.
You know they asked John Simm and Philip Glennister to star in the US version, but were turned down. Which makes this entire US version entirely odd to me. I mean, if you're going to have the British stars come over and reprise their roles, why bother redoing the series at all? Why not just show it?
But I suppose they feel it must be "Americanized". Which is...
Hey, I'll probably watch the first episode, just to see. Because this new version is either going to be amazing (unlikely) or woeful (far more likely).
Still cracks me up that they've ended up importing two Irish actors for the US version of this British series. I'm sure they're filming it in Vancouver.
I've heard nothing but "it's a disaster" from the production. First they couldn't figure out if it was going to be in the same time frame or earlier. Then couldn't figure out if they should move it to NYC or keep it in LA. And this was right after upfronts. Since then it's been nothing but general grumbling of 'nobody has any idea what to do with it' (http://www.nypost.com/seven/06172008/tv/kelleys_new_cop_show_arrested_115831.htm). And then, three days ago, I finally heard what I think it prolly the real issue -- the lead is crap and has zero of the emotion required to play Sam and they don't know what to do -- presumably he's got a massive contract -- sack him or just fake it.
Two words: NBC and Coupling. Personally I shall be staying far away, I see no reason to piss in my own cornflakes ;-)
