In which "The Queen" is not about John being camp :(

Oh man, the "science" in this episode hurts my brain. I kept expecting Rodney to suddenly snap and start screaming, "I'm sorry! I can't go through with this! It makes no sense." Oh, show, why must you wound Rodney's poor science so?

In more general terms, Teyla is awesome but this was way more boring than it ought to have been. (siriaeve's The Language of Hard Nouns springs to mind as a story dealing (note: actually dealing) with some similar things while being about 10,000 times more interesting.) Also, I feel that Teyla could have totally kicked Bald Wraith's ass. The fact that they had her get rescued by Todd? LAME.

Also lame: John named Todd's 2IC Kenny, and yet we got no South Park joke? Is it bad that I want to write a fic just to kill off a boring secondary character now?

Today, after the episode, I began thinking about writing a fic in which Todd and John are both old drag-queens, like, they'd sing in the equivalent of the Birdcage, right? So John would specialize in his Dolly Parton act, while Todd is totally Madonna, and they'd bicker like two bitter rivals but always stick together in the end, and there's this guy that's always watching John, and the "straight" bouncer that keeps sending Todd this threatening glares, and suddenly 'Marilyn Monroe' is upstaging them both, and John is about to rip her a new one, when he finds out that's actually that guy, that awkward, intensely dorky guy that keeps watching his performances even though it's obvious he hates country in any form, and John is kinda head over heels.
