I HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE IN DUBLIN!

And may I say, thank god. I leave in less than a month (!) and up until now, it looked like I was going to be sleeping in doorways. But hurrah! My housing application--submitted late because of a bureaucratic fuck-up (I still haven't gotten one of the packets I was supposed to receive in JULY)--was accepted, even though I was told it probably wasn't going to be AND I was even given an ensuite single instead of a double or something horrific like that. Now I have to go look up PEARSE STREET and check out my new neighborhood! Yay!

Also, in less vital but nonetheless wonderful news, I wrote some fic for sga_flashfic. It's called "Sexual Healing," it's extremely silly, and it's here. And people like it! Wow! I am so relieved because this was my first attempt at writing SGA humor and I of course convinced myself it was crap. As usual, my reaction to my own writing went something like this:

First re-read
Huh. That sentence doesn't make any sense. And all of this "humor" is kinda...forced.

Second re-read
I SUCK. For the good of humanity, I must never touch a keyboard again!

Two days/a month and a half/seven years later
Hmm. Maybe some of this is salvageable.

An hour later
Oh, what the fuck. *posts*

But yeah, I'm glad I got over myself because from what I've seen, SGA readers are encouraging and responsive and wonderful and I love them.

I LOVE THIS FANDOM!!!

Ah yes, my stages of writing, too.
Except when there is either a deadline or the waiting-for-a-beta and I keep wavering between crap/good. I've been at the wtf-postit stage for two days now and am slowly making it worse.
