That bugged me, too. I mean, come on, it was about a horseman, isn't that Castiel's territory?

Then again, if the only way you can kill a zombie is by shooting it in the head, then Cas wouldn't be much help. I'm guessing he never held a gun before. But I would love me some scenes of Dean trying to teach him.
