Notes: I am indebted, first and foremost, to Suzanne Collins, whose wonderful young adult series inspired this story. [livejournal.com profile] fishandcustard listened very patiently while I ironed out early ideas for this adaptation, and bribed me with macarons; [livejournal.com profile] bauble worked clean-up shift and helped fix many of the story's lingering problems. [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve knows she is always my first and best soundingboard. And the amazing [livejournal.com profile] aesc—artist, writer, and jumpin' Jupiter, road buddy extraordinaire—inspired me with her beautiful work and was invaluable in shaping the final product. Thank you all so much!

*hugs!!!!* Oh man, I am ridiculously excited about this, as you probably know by now. It's been so much fun and a challenge (in the best possible way) to make art that does credit to your writing. Seriously, I am pleased and happy and thrilled beyond words ♥♥♥♥

I've never seen SPN, so I know the specifics of the characterization would be totally lost on me, but... what a cool idea! :)

MY EYES BUGGED OUT OF MY HEAD WHEN I SAW THIS.

IT'S LIKE EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED OUT OF THE SUPERNATURAL FANDOM. WRITTEN BY MY FAVORITE WRITER, WITH ART BY MY FAVORITE ARTIST. IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS AND MY BIRTHDAY AND HALLOWEEN AND EASTER AND ANY DAY I GET OFF WORK HAVE ALL COME AT ONCE.

I MAY BE STUCK ON CAPSLOCK FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I AM FINE WITH THAT.

OMFG. *KERMITFLAIL*

AND THIS IS BEFORE I EVEN READ OH MY GOD I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE MY GLEE WHEN I ACTUALLY READ IT OMFG YESSSSSSSS.

You had me a "Trin's fic" but made me want to read immediately due to the Hunger Games tie in. SO EXCITED!

I have a quick question before I read:

Are there any Hunger Games Trilogy spoilers?

I read The Hunger Games, but I haven't finished Catching Fire or Mockingjay yet.

This looks so interesting, but if there are spoilers, I'll have to save this fic for after I've finished the books.

Good question! There really aren't. It's a fusion, not a crossover, so I really only took the basic concept of the first book for this story. There are also, I suppose, some thematic similarities between this story and the trilogy as a whole, but I would not consider any of that spoilery in the traditional sense.

Thank you so much for writing this (and thank aesc for the lovely art), it's definitively one of my favorite works from this BG.
For some reasons, it reminded me of a novel by Orson Scott Card (not the Ender trilogy, I don't remember the name of the book right now though). And anything reminding me of something written by Orson Scott Card is totally, utterly, absolutely (etc.) good. But the truth is, having read some of your other works, I'm not that surprised that I like it so much.

I love a well crafted STORY. LOOOVE. When I'm demanding my brain to READ FASTER ALREADY!!! because I'm mad with impatient glee to see what happens next?

BEST FEELING EVER. WORD DRUGS.

Thank you for this!

When I see new writing from you, I get excited. I never know what to expect when it comes to plot, tone, POV, etc, but you've definitely got your own style. It is an AWESOME style. I read a ton of fic, and you are so one of the top 5 writers that can make my day before I even read a word of what you've written. Just knowing it's there to read is enough.
Yeah, I just comment groped you. Heh.

This fic is a combination of my two biggest obsessions right now. I just finished mainlining all three Hunger Games books, and then I see this! Awesome. I am saving it to read tonight when I have time to settle down for a good long read.

Here via a rec in [livejournal.com profile] spnstoryfinders. I loved this story! Great job with the action scenes, especially that final one; they were exciting and emotionally involving, both. I also loved the way you worked bits of canon into this AU. Looking forward to reading more of your stories.

Hey. This is maybe a bit cheeky, but do you have either a .DOC or .RTF of this? I want to read it on my eReader and it doesn't handle PDFs well AT ALL. I'm been busting my ass trying to convert your BEAUTIFUL PDF into something my Sony will accept, but no dice :(

Not gonna lie, I went out and read The Hunger Games just so I could feel justified in reading this fic. Looking forward to it! :)
