SPORK!

Wow! TV last night actually didn't suck!

Lost

After last night, I feel I no longer have to be embarrassed about the sex dream I had about Locke. (No, I'll save that for the threesome dream I had about Sawyer and Kate.) Basically, Locke's backstory can beat up your backstory, punk. Things I loved:

-The dream.
-Eager little non-cynical!Locke.
-Locke's reaction to his mother's tale of his immaculate conception. Terry O'Quinn did just the tiniest thing with his eyes, but it was awesome.
-Bloody!Boone.
-The shot of Locke getting out of the car where you briefly see the blood leaking through the back of his white shirt.

And of course, Potter's Saywer's glasses. This especially amused me because I had the same exact problem a year ago: reading too much, terrible headaches, whooops! Farsighted. I never thought I'd have something in common with Sawyer. (Except a desire to spend a sordid, passionate evening with Kate, apparently. Yech.)

Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] foresthouse for the icon, BTW.

Alias

Have I mentioned that I looooooove Marshall? After all the stupid Kill Bill previews, last night's episode made me so unexpectedly happy. (I looooooove Drew Goddard, too.) I don't know what earned the bigger squee: Marshall saying, "A spork!" or Jack saying, "A spork?" I'd totally want an icon of that. That is, if I had more than three icon spaces. ::grumble::

Marshall and his spork-defying antics (And the Spanish! And the German! And channelling Jack Bristow!) even managed to get me through the S/V without vomiting. So yay!

Eyes

So, for those of you who don't know, Tim Daly is my cousin. (Or first cousin once removed. Whatever.) Anyway, I watched this show mostly out of familial loyalty (and yes, there are hours I spent watching The Fugitive remake that I will never get back...), but I actually rather enjoyed it. The director needs to stop thinking weird angles and erratic camera movements make shots look cool, but I was entertained. There was good banter. I likes me some banter.

Now I'm torn between thinking "Go Tim!" and freaking out at the thought of a fandom rising up around a show starring one of my relatives. Because there will be smut. And there will be slash. And I have to see this guy every Christmas.

Is there some corporate mandate at ABC that all new shows must have crazy!angles, mad!focus!pulls and the like?

I wanted to watch Eyes, but the name seemed so dorky. I'll see if I can find a torrent of it. Shhh, don't tell, I think Tim Daly is cute. Ok, that's out there. Maybe I shouldn't've said anything.

(And yeah, omg! Sawyer's glasses!)

-My theory is that everyone at ABC is stoned out of their minds, and that the new "Oooh! Colors!" is "Oooh! Angles!"

-Tim Daly is cute. In a closely related to me sort of way.

-Glasses! Up with Geek!

Thx for the link -- I just had a very workplace inappropriate fit of laughter!

OMG, Tim Daly is your cousin?! I've loved him ever since 'Wings'. Don't tell him this (actually no, do tell him this), I've been following his career since then. :)

even managed to get me through the S/V without vomiting.
You are a better woman than I. I was doing fine (except for a little taste of throw-up in my mouth during the 'let's go dancing' phone convo) until the end where they danced in the train station. Why? Why do they have to keep throwing that S/V crap at us? They're soul mates, I really really really get it.*eg* Not to mention that the phone convo made it so blatantly obvious that we were going to get some cheesy ending with them dancing somewhere, but I had hoped against hope.

I'm embarrassed to say that I never watched Wings. (I was too young when it started, and then my parents went through a "TV is eeeeevil" stage, so I had to fight just to get my X-Files.) But next time I see him (mostly weddings, funerals, and major holidays) I'll be sure to drop in a word for you. *g*

Yes, the train station dance was pretty bad. I distracted myself by thinking, "Oooh, Union Station is pretty. Pretty, pretty Union Station." Then I got up and ate a lot of leftover Easter candy.

It's amazing how television has managed to put me off the formerly attractive idea of "soulmates" forever and ever.

That was a quick icon. Let's all pray for dead Boone.

That's one of the things I like about LJ: it's so speedy.

I do pray for dead Boone, but I fear J.J. & Co. will consider that too obvious. I'm worried that they're gonna kill Claire, and then Charlie'll be so depressed, he'll start hitting the Virgin Mary heroin. Which would just be sad.

Wow. Your cousin?

Huh. I'd never thought of it as "Fandom = smut = slash /= christmas dinner with a straight face."

My sympathies.

Lost is such an incredible show. It's the only show I watch reliably at this point, and last night was a really good episode. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Also I really wanted that icon myself. :)
