•Just in case anyone missed it: Further evidence that Neil Gaiman is God.

I so want an icon that says "Oh, bitchcakes" now. Of anybody. Really.

•Question: does anyone have an mp3 of "Carry That Weight" by The Beatles that they could send me? I'd Limewire it, but Trinity's network doesn't allow peer-to-peer sharing, yadda yadda yadda. I'd appreciate it muchly. ETA: I realize that it is pointless to be coy. The reason I'm asking is that the version I have cuts off at the end, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that, like "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," or if my copy's just mean. So, yeah: satisfy my curiousity; mock my lack of musical knowledge. (I was born in 1984, what can I say?)

•I wish I were in L.A. so that I could buy [livejournal.com profile] mciac a drink. For even more reasons than usual.

•Finally, I've been thinking it would be self-indulgent masturbatory fun to do a commentary track for one of my fics. The only question is...which one??? Obviously, as with all important decisions, I should defer to a highly-scientific LiveJournal poll.

Help decide which SGA fic I'll write commentary for!

The stories are here.

[Poll #629733]

If you have any specific questions that you want me to try to address in the eventual commentary, please comment and let me know. *is super curious*

(And yes, I know I left off "And Time," "Major Ted," and "Teeth." But I could only list 15 options and they're really short, yo! If you're violently angry, feel free to yell at me. But not too much; I'm fragile.)

I probably won't be able to actually do this until I finish my [livejournal.com profile] undermistletoe fic and the whatsit I started for the latest [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic challenge, but week-after-nextish, maybe?

Also, I really want to do commentary for the story that honestly is the popular favorite; with that in mind, do you think it's appropriate to pimp this poll on [livejournal.com profile] mckay_sheppard or [livejournal.com profile] sga_noticeboard? Argh, I really need someone to write a Fandom Miss Manners...

Okay, back to footnotes.

Actually, that reminds me...I can avoid doing footnotes by making dinner! Whee!

And if you ask me, I'd rather suggest you work on That Story, You Know? 0 :-)

Ahh, yes. I WILL do that, promise. And actually, if you can remind me where I was up to, I think I have a considerable chunk that I can send you quite soon.

ohman. I still, still, god, finals be OVER already, still want to commentate inhibited/down from mt olympus/something wicked so I can explain just how freaking much I love your Sheppard adn why you write the best Sheppard in the whole universe, because seriously, those three stories, they're like the John Trilogy or maybe the gospel, except that would be morethe priest story, and omg, I need to end this sentence DIRECTLY.

anyway. yes. so I voted for two of my other favorites, self-interestedly. (y)!

Aww, you make me all glowy-happy, footnotes be DAMNED! I really want to read your commentary, so I hope you kick finals ass and that all three of those stories lose. (Seriously, though: I'm sure whatever you have to say is totally different. And probably more interesting than what I've got: a lot of, "Ha ha, look there was another in-joke that I put in with the hope of one person besides myself getting it...")

you write the best Sheppard in the whole universe

Can I put that up, like, on my wall? Or on the door of my dorm room? I mean, it's not true (everything I know I stole from [livejournal.com profile] astolat), but it makes me so unbelievably happy...OMG, THANK YOU. *bounces* And screw these footnotes, I wanna go write more fic!

I don't have AIM (I'm the only person in the world!) but I do have three e-mail accounts--one of them ought to take attachments that big. akirgo @ yahoo.com, kaufmaa @ tcd.ie, or akirgo @ berkeley.edu . Thank you!

BTW, for future reference, yousendit is really easy: you don't need an account or anything; you just go there, upload like you would any attachment, and it e-mails you the link. At least, it's easy for small files: for large ones (like TV episodes, etc.) it has a naughty tendency to crash my computer...

Now if only I could tell myself whether or not "Carry That Weight" is supposed to cut off... Ooh! I could use my new e-mail to write to my mom and ask her!

What can I say? I make my own fun.

Ahh, you know, I think I used to know that, back in the days when I spent an awful lot of time curled up on the backseat of my parents' Volvo, listening to their Beatles cassettes. iTunes has ruined me for albums, though.

No one's sent me the full version yet. If your bandwidth could take it, I'd love to snag a copy from you, and I'd be happy to re-upload it to yousendit so that other people ([livejournal.com profile] godofwine expressed interest) can enjoy, too. Thank you!

I tried to upload to YSI, but it's being funny, so I've uploaded it to FileFactory instead: direct link (http://www.filefactory.com/get/f.php?f=11b27b182b126f038257d84b), or you could try cutting and pasting: http://www.filefactory.com/get/f.php?f=11b27b182b126f038257d84b
Apparently it'll stay up forever, provided someone clicks the link every 30 days, so feel free to share the link around to [livejournal.com profile] godofwine or anyone else who may be interested. :)

(If the link doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to get it to you another way. Somehow.)

Why must Neil Gaiman be a real person? Why can't he truly be a fictional character? That way we wouldn't feel this delightful pain at wondering at his splendidness.

We wouldn't? I think it's great that he's a real person--it helps me to believe that people like that do, really and truly, exist. Otherwise I honestly might think that they lived only in the realm of fiction.

Hmmm, I think I'm the only commenter asking fic questions... I feel so geeky.

But. Fic! Because Dæmonology (which has the most votes so far! yes!) blew me away, and I am incurably hungry for details - what did you leave out? The whole thing feels rich in a showing-not-telling way, but since it's commentary - what do the particular Dæmons mean, for Shepard especially? I know you may not have, like, charted snake = x, mouse = y, but I'd love to know what you were thinking about the characters.

Also. What did you like about these? Because with this kind of thing, I always end up obsessing over some detail no one else noticed. Which things did you really want to do with these people?
