A huuuuuuuge database so writers could check and make sure titles they were thinking of using hadn't already been used ten bagillion times. Or, if you're an anal perfectionist like me, once.

Prayers to Broken Stone has already been used, right? And if it hasn't, it's like horribly, horribly cliché. Right?

I really need to go to bed and stop writing super-depressing fic.

First hit (http://allaboutspike.com/fic.html?id=824) on google, amusingly enough.

Oh man, if there were such a database, I'd have to tear my hair out trying to change my titles to conform to the idea that they are totally unique.

Oh no, more depressing fic? It's a trend! And I'll read it and love it and crush it to me in angsty drama. Yes.

This is amusing. Especially because it states 'Spoilers: The Lost Boys'.

The movie (I think), not SGA. Heh, even the TPTB have difficulties finding original titles. :D

I don't know about the title, but getting to bed might be good, and especially stopping with the super-depressing fic, because then I'd have to read it and then I'd be super depressed. And super-depressing fic makes the baby Jesus cry in a completely unironical way. Srsly, yo, I still haven't recovered from [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock's "Edges", I really don't need another person to break my heart into a hundred tiny little pieces, and you totally could.

You should get started on that database, that'd be a good idea.

What would also help is if Wraithbait had a search engine along these lines: http://www.squidge.org/archive/cgi-bin/search.cgi
Searching by pairings is, well, less than helpful given the size of the archive.

Stories of the same title don't bother me as long as they're in different fandoms. A quick google search including the title and the names of the major characters usually gets the desired result.
