Oh, the shame, the shame. And I love GalaxyQuest, too! I could *hear* the quote in my head, but I couldn't pin it down *g*.

My favourites are similarly liable to change, due to me having multiple new albums to choose from. But based on the stuff I know reasonably well (namely: All That You Can't Leave Behind, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree), it's probably something like:

1. With or Without You
2. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
3. Pride (In the Name of Love)
4. Walk On
5. Hawkmoon whatever-that-number-is

*squirm* No matter what I do, I'm going to come off sounding like a snob in this comment, so my apologies in advance.

Basically, I just want to shower you in more rare U2. Because as much as I like the songs you listed, my inner (very snobby and obnoxious! *slaps it*) U2 fan can't stop thinking, "But there's so much more interesting stuff! Stuff that [livejournal.com profile] wychwood needs to hear!" So, um. Most of my U2 files are unfortunately protected .mp3s and thus difficult to convert, but if you like I can post an assortment of other stuff that isn't, and, like, some cool live tracks as well. Would you be interested in that? Or am I really annoying and should I go away?

That said...

5. Hawkmoon whatever-that-number-is

That's a really interesting choice. I actually had to go listen to it 'cause it didn't pop instantly into my head. (It's "Hawkmoon 269," BTW. And no, I have no idea what that means. *g*) What bumped that into the Top Five for you? *is intensely curious*

*goes back to being mild and unassuming and hopefully not a snobby snob snob*

Bwahahaha. I do not think you sound like a snob! And it may console you to hear that I did in fact buy (just last week) Zooropa, Pop, Wide Awake In America and The Unforgettable Fire, and have How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb on order from Amazon, along with a bunch of other stuff (incidentally, I blame you for all most some of that). So I'm totally expanding my horizons. If you wanted to post things other than what is on those albums, feel free to do so; I won't be able to buy any more (like, oh, their other three albums) until my birthday now, due to brokeness.

But. It may be shamelessly populist! It may be the obvious choice! But nevertheless, With Or Without You ate my soul! That's actually basically my criteria for all of these. And though mostly I've gone for their more popular songs, I don't get the One love - that's, like, their number one song ever, but although I like it, it's never grabbed me.

Hawkmoon 269 - it's just something about the pulse, the danger of it. I have no idea what the title means, either :) But I adore the sound of the song.
