A new definition of brilliance

We just got our 100th sign-up at
reel_sga! There are plenty of prompts still open, however, and you can also suggest your own. Go join! We'd especially love to have more artists. *looks pointedly at
anna_luna,
ciderpress,
cynicatlantis,
dar_jeeling,
fan_this,
fatuorum,
gambits_rogue,
spaggel,
tardis80...* This is gonna be awesome!
You know what's also awesome? Cemeteries. When I went down to Laois with
siriaeve this past weekend, I ended up having a few hours to myself in Portlaoise, so I went and explored a cemetery called, I think, The Ridge. Siria's parents thought I was insane to spend my time this way, but it was SO COOL:
I mean, look at it!

On a hill!

Right above this housing complex!

Fallen gravestones used for steps!

So. Cool.

Also, my parents apparently do love me, because they sent me an Easter package. Inside was a companion for the monkey I got in Little Tokyo and brought with me to Dublin.

Miyazaki Monkey and Retarded Bunny are friends! Aww. And actually, that reminds me...
You know what else is awesome? Me and
siriaeve. I mean, separately, we're all right, but together? We are the awesomest.
Here is some evidence of our genius (recorded faithfully from some recent conversations):
Trin: Cookie icon!
Siria: He could also be, “mmm, pie” or “mmm, sandwiches.” Like Joey Tribiani. He and John could bond over baloney.
Trin: Oh, God.
Siria: Joey should go to Atlantis! He could wander around and annoy Rodney.
Trin: Rodney would not know what to do with someone as stupid as Joey. “How does he function? How does he walk? Seriously, could you be any more stupid?” And Joey’s like, “You remind me of someone...”
Siria: He would probably have the gene really strongly. So strongly that the U.S. Government has to beg and plead to send him to Atlantis. He would try to bring Chandler as his personal item.
Trin: He’d be very upset by the Daedalus’ load limits. “What do you MEAN no foosball table? No big white dog?”
Siria: After the Classic Movie Challenge, we should have a classic play challenge.
Trin: No way! Then someone would do Waiting for Godot and I would have to kill myself.
Siria: Rodney would be like, “It’s been ten minutes already. Screw this, I’m going for some cookies.”
Trin: And John would be off in the corner, angsting. “Abandoned AGAIN.”
(And some solo Siria genius--even better when taken completely out of context!)
Siria: So I was sleeping dreaming of two random gay guys sleeping, but it was FUN!
Siria: Rodney is like the pasta to my anti-pasta.
Siria: We have good intentions, but the power of the cock compels us!
And now, a poll.

Date: 2006-04-20 04:23 pm (UTC)As for the other thing, I think the Royal Irish Academy has that problem a lot. Knocking people unconscious, I mean.
Cookies!

Date: 2006-04-20 04:27 pm (UTC)Cookies are yay. I have no cookies, though. Nor tea, today. *sadness*

Date: 2006-04-20 04:31 pm (UTC)I actually have no cookies either. Just peanut butter eggs and jelly beans. And Skittles. But a girl can dream!

Date: 2006-04-20 04:38 pm (UTC)I think that this evening I will buy hot cross buns and have them with tea. Because that will fill me with yay, and fill my tummy. EVERYONE WINS.

(And personally, I am always willing and eager to accommodate genderfuck. *g*)

Date: 2006-04-21 04:40 am (UTC)That actually makes me feel much better, it is proof that I'm not alone in my insanity. :)
It's really difficult putting something like that together, and I get how much effort you've put into it.
Thanks!
Also, can I see the result, when it's done?
Is there something like an Art!beta? Because I could try to do that if you want... God knows *I* could really use one...

Date: 2006-04-20 05:16 pm (UTC)And I hope some of the prompts are left over, there is one that I'd love to do in addition to the one I chose.
(no subject)
Date: 2006-04-21 03:30 pm (UTC)Also, we're already thinking of ways to keep the community going once the challenge is over--we want more stories and more art! (We're greedy like that.) Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Date: 2006-04-20 08:44 pm (UTC)because, if i'm not mistaken, it stands. (unless it's the huge kind.)

Date: 2006-04-20 09:30 pm (UTC)When I was in Prague last year, we visited an old Jewish cemetary. Pretty interesting, no?
Then someone would do Waiting for Godot and I would have to kill myself. Oh, come on, it would rock. Sort of. In a omg-noes-an-existential-crisis kind of way. :|:|

Date: 2006-04-20 10:32 pm (UTC)Also I always walk through cemeteries. I once picked a flower and forever traumatized a friend telling her the flower was fertilized with human flesh...
