TONIGHT! Tonight, tonight, won’t be just any night, tonight there will be no Morningstar…

Well, actually, there will, which is kind of the problem. I CAN’T WAIT.

Until then, I thought I’d leave you with some more Swear Jar ’verse, which seems fitting, as that’s what I started with. (Oh yeah, and previous ficlets are here.)

Title: Heaven or Las Vegas
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Sam/Ruby
Spoilers: Very AU, so pretty darn safe.
Length: ~3,650 words
Summary: Third installment of the Swear Jar ’verse, this comes chronologically between Quarters and Sharing Is Caring. A more in-depth look at the scenario Castiel describes to Ruby in “Sharing”—namely, his and Dean’s first time with the sexin’.
Notes: I started writing this a couple months ago—and almost immediately thereafter, TWO other people posted fics in which Dean and Cas do sex in a posh Vegas hotel. So I put it aside. Then I remembered: this is fandom. Do we really need to set a cap on things like that? I think not! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aesc for her help and encouragement, once again!

Tomorrow! TOMORROW! The sun will come out and then it will go down and we will get Winchesters tomorrow. And Castiel! Bwee!

Title: A Wincest Story
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Sam/OFC
Spoilers: General S4
Warnings: No actual wincest; the author being a smartass.
Length: ~3,000 words
Summary: When he listened to their former angel pronounce his new official human name over and over, first giddy, then reverent—“Cas Winchester, Cas Winchester”—Sam couldn’t shake the feeling that this was somehow going to come back and bite them in the ass.
Notes: A gift for [livejournal.com profile] 22by7. Huge, huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aesc and [livejournal.com profile] bmouse, who totally saved my ass with this story. *smishes*

Pairings: Deanna/Castiel
Spoilers: Through 4x22
Length: ~2,000 words
Summary: Sequel to Daughter of Man, because the T was a little too U, even for me. Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Or, Deanna and Castiel do sex the end.
Note: Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] aesc for her help and encouragement.

Note: Huge, HUGE thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aesc and [livejournal.com profile] bmouse; without their incredible amount of help and handholding, this story would never have been finished.

Seven days!

I think I'm confusing people with this count. I'm including The Thursday Itself as a day, because we are going to have to wait through most of it. (And also I have to write a fic for it.) Six and a half days, maybe? That's awkward.

Anyway, LESS THAN A WEEK! Previous ficlets here.

Two weeks, you guys! TWO WEEKS! I love how at the beginning of the summer, I was all like, “oh, whatever, I’m an ADULT, I can totally wait, like, four months for new show; it’ll be easy-peasy; I’ll just read fic and write fic and go to Comic-Con and CHILLAX.” And then sometime in the last couple of weeks I totally lost my cool and am now going around with an unstable look in my eyes and demanding “IS IT SEPTEMBER 10TH YET?” of random people. (Mostly [livejournal.com profile] bmouse and [livejournal.com profile] turtlespeaks. Sorry, guys. Though, in fairness, you’ve been doing it too.)

ANYWAY, now that we’re really only two weeks away (from the Supernatural S5 premiere. Y’all got that, right?) I thought I’d celebrate by posting a ficlet a day. Most of these were written for various comment fic memes over the course of the summer, but I never posted them here or anywhere but in the threads, so hopefully they’ll be new to most people. And since I’m a few short of 14 15, I’m gonna try to cook up a couple new ones, too. So cross your fingers for me. Two weeks, people! TWO WEEKS.

Ahem. Let us now proceed to ficlet the first:

Title: Sharing Is Caring
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Dean/Castiel & Sam/Ruby
Spoilers: None! Really very AU at this point!
Length: ~1,100 words
Summary: Sequel to Quarters. For the kink_meme prompt, “Cas and Ruby discuss the merits of their respective bedmates.”

Sharing Is Caring )

HEY CHECK IT OUT EVERYBODY, I AM FAMOUS ON THE INTERNETS:

(The above contains: 1. Nothing to disturb the spoiler-free and 2. Me!)

*~WOW!~*

Okay, and if you can get over the excitement of THAT, here's more I-am-insanely-behind booklog:

51. Q&A — Vikas Swarup ) it’s interesting to see how the same concept can be taken in two wildly different directions—one that’ll make people hand out Oscars, and one that’ll make them want to mimic Oscar the Grouch.

52. Underground — Haruki Murakami ) It’s a wonderful work as a piece of history, and as an introspective look at everyday human action in the face of tragedy.

53. The Girl on the Fridge — Etgar Keret ) Just not my thing.

54. Honolulu — Alan Brennert ) it’s just not my kind of novel.

55. Girls of Riyadh — Rajaa Alsanea ) I still think this book is pretty fucking bleak.

56. Fly on the Wall — E. Lockhart ) I wish I'd found more examples of girls like her in fiction when I was the same age.

57. Ex Machina: Tag — Brian K. Vaughan ) This "review" says way more about the poor state of my brain than it does about this book.

58. How I Became a Famous Novelist — Steve Hely ) I have enjoyed recommending this novel to customers, thus earning it a place on our store’s bestseller list. ;-)

59. Devilish — Maureen Johnson ) Perhaps supernatural fiction is not Johnson’s milieu?

60. Rest You Merry — Charlotte MacLeod ) this wasn’t memorable enough that I’ll be actively and desperately seeking them out.

Total Reviews: 60/137

I...feel like there was a third thing but now I can't remember what it was. Um. Possibly expect an edit?

Oh, life.

Last night I got high with a guy named John Lawrence who's from Lawrence, Kansas. (His mom's name is Mary.) We watched four episodes of Supernatural and I ate a third of a lemon meringue pie.

I would say, "The only thing I regret is the pie" but how can you ever truly regret pie?

Second, this is probably already making the rounds, but I need to preserve it for my, uh, "files":

From a New York Post article, 'GAY' TWIST ON SHERLOCK HOLMES AND DR. WATSON MAY BACKFIRE IN GUY RICHIE'S FILM:

"But Michael Medved, a former Post movie critic, says Downey and Law must be joking. 'There's not a seething, bubbling hunger to see straight stars impersonating homosexuals,' Medved told us. 'I think they're just trying to generate controversy . . . They know that making Holmes and Watson homosexual will take away two-thirds of their box office. Who is going to want to see Downey Jr. and Law make out? I don't think it would be appealing to women. Straight men don't want to see it.'"

*falls over laughing*

There are just SO MANY jokes I could make. (To start with, try: Michael Medved—big idiot, or BIGGEST idiot?) But I think we should all just start sending Michael Medved slash fic. I think he would learn a lot!

Finally, there is now a Dean/Castiel drabble comm! It's [livejournal.com profile] deancas100. I love drabble challenges! I already wrote my first entry, here. Come play!

A.K.A., The First of Probably Several Semi-Incoherent Posts About Comic-Con

Specifically, in this case, the Supernatural panel, because that was today, and I need to talk about it immediately.

Pretty major S5 spoilers behind the cut )

In forthcoming posts: Big Bang Theory, True Blood, and scads of other things, including Paul Gross' new show, Eastwick. He plays the devil. My brain still can't take it.

Teeny tiny SPN S5 spoiler that is just about the awesomest thing ever

The only thing more awesome than that spoiler is (of course) Misha Collins. Who, as fandom already knows, between interning at the White House and building his own house and learning Tibetan throat singing and being a hotass on TV and assembling an army of minions, has published poetry. Which, BECAUSE SHE HAS SUPERPOWERS BEYOND THAT OF MORTAL WOMEN, [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve found in about four seconds. (She's all like, "Google is your friend, Trin!" At which point I had to point out the sad truth: "No, Google is your friend; it is my somewhat ornery acquaintance.") Anyway...this may turn out to be old news, but I haven't seen them anywhere, so I present for your reading pleasure:

Two poems from the Columbia Poetry Review by the new God of Fandom, Misha Collins )

I love him so much I might actually pass out.

In other news, my mom got a puppy )

His name is Morrissey. He's half Jack Russell, half Fox Terrier, and the tiniest, cutest little thing ever. And then, sadly, he broke his toe )

I might die of puppy, if Misha Collins hadn't already killed me.

So yes, there is a lot of awesome in the air today, the only exceptions being 1) the weather, and 2) my total unpreparedness for Comic-Con. I have not arranged meet-ups or planned anything or even done my laundry. I FAIL. And so, I shall flail! If I flap my arms enough, maybe everything will magically ready itself?

In conclusion, MISHA COLLINS.

Okay, now you can know the real reason [livejournal.com profile] bmouse and I were so late eating the day of the big MRE adventure: I couldn't be pried away from working on this:

Title: Apocrypha, or: How Chuck Learned to Stop Worrying and Love His Red Pen
Rating: R
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Spoilers: Through 4x22
Length: ~7,600 words
Summary: In which Bobby is kind of a dick, Sam skips out on dish duty, Castiel attempts to acquire a hobby, Dean does inappropriate things with jam, and Chuck’s not sure what story he’s writing anymore.
Author’s Note: Writing is hard, but [livejournal.com profile] bmouse, [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma, [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve, & [livejournal.com profile] wychwood all made working on this story much easier—not to mention the story itself a whole lot better. I am indebted.
