What Dreams May Come is short but far from sweet: it's an intensely disturbing look at Rodney stripped of what makes him Rodney, told in a deceptively simple but shockingly effective first person POV. This story is like a punch to the gut, but it doesn't let you wallow in pain on the floor after you've been hit. There's a glimmer of hope--which just makes the whole thing more wrenching.
