Tim Gunn, how are you so awesome?

In other news, my internet keeps going out. How else am I supposed to read articles in which Tim Gunn is delightfully bitchy about Cindy McCain apply for jobs without the interwebs? Woe!

Time Warner sucks. Anybody in the L.A. area use something different/better? I've about had it.

All political campaigns contain too much shallowness and not enough substance. Sad fact of life. I don't think this campaign has been worse than any other, though, really. And while I could discuss at length the myriad ways Barack Obama and John McCain differ on issues, decision making skills, ethics, morals, and smarts, I can't deny that I do also find it telling that John McCain cheated on and divorced his first wife after she was horribly injured to marry a scary Barbie doll lady, and Barack Obama is married to a brilliant, passionate, and yes—stylish and real—woman.

True. And I quite agree with you about the difference between the candidates. I think we probably agree on a lot of issues regarding these two candidates. And I'm also not saying that there is a huge difference between this campaign and any other US campaign I've seen. I do think that the other elections in other countries I've lived in, countries that had monarchies, were a little less appearance-related. Just a perspective. And I suspect that I sound as though I'm criticising your country or your system of government, which was not my intent.

My country deserves a lot of criticism and I wish every day that the electorate were better informed about the issues. I just found the comparison to the monarchy very weird. ;-)

Yeah, sorry. It wasn't meant to be a political comparison to a monarchy, rather a highly superficial comparison! I meant that these sorts of articles feel more like what I'm used to reading about the Windsors, not the Rudds, Howards, Hawkes or Blairs (to throw in a Briton you might have heard of :).

But Australians are not best known for their fashion. :D
