L.A. people! I'm really excited about this contest we're holding in which you can win free tickets to the Swedish movie version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which was my favorite book last year. Enter the contest here--it's running for the next 24 hours.

You can also watch this video of me being a dork about books here.

I will stop spamming you now.

I have not read either of those books. I think I read a Dorothy D. once, and there was . . . Scottish stuff. And a lot of people who kept coming and going. Often with swords. :-?

STILL CUTEST.

Dunnett takes a while to get going in the first book, but the rest of the series is twisty and historically complex and amazing. The climactic scene of the series is the only book scene I can remember that made me feel physically ill with tension. That said, there are things hinted at in one of the books that you might not want to read about, even though they are only hinted at.

You might well enjoy Sayers, though, especially the ones that feature Peter and Harriet. There's a lot of hinky class issues that you would delight in unpacking, I think, but also a lot of Harriet being an awesome female character while the two of them wear fabulous clothing and quote classic literature at one another. :D

Okay, it's official, you are adorable. With excellent taste in books!

And! Because of you I found the courage to read Stieg Larsson's books -- they sounded so violent that I was hesitant. But you were right; they're brilliant. I literally couldn't put them down. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the third. (Did you read where he had ten planned?)

Thank you!

Boooooo, I read your review and got excited enough that I mentioned it to my mom, next thing I know my brother's gotten it for me as a b-day gift, but do I have time to read it with my classes? No! It sits on my dresser, mocking me with it's fantastic-ness that I have yet to experience. And I am incapable of seeing a movie without reading the book first. Incapable.
