I'm feeling oddly melancholy today. (Which might explain why I read this lovely Traders fic and sobbed all over [livejournal.com profile] spike21's journal.) I woke up irrationally angry with my mother because I had a dream that she was best friends with Paul Gross and she wouldn't let me meet him. What's with you, brain?

Anyway, here are some sources of distraction:

Bono interviews Eddie Izzard. They are both awesome, and parts of this pertain to "Four Quarters" in interesting ways.

•Someone mentioned the Don't Stand So Close to Me video in the comments to Office Hours, which was oddly enough already on my mind, as I caught part of it on TV at Siria's house the other night. Sting is so hot in this. (Shut up, Siria! So's Pete Tyler!)

Lyrics meme:

1. Your memory is here and I’d like it to stay / Warm light on a winter’s day --Pink Bullets, The Shins (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] slodwick)

2. Mama I’ve seen them the others like me / Once I could see it was all I could see

3. There is an old cliché / Under your Monet, baby --Believe Me Natalie, The Killers (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] megolas)

4. Don’t fall on your sword / Just play another chord / If you feel you’re getting bored --Numb, U2 (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] wychwood)

5. We thought we had the answers / It was the questions we had wrong --11 O'Clock Tick Tock, U2 (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] the_acrobat)

6. Graceless lady, you know who I am --Wild Horses, The Rolling Stones (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra)

7. Taste the whip, now plead for me --Venus in Furs, The Velvet Underground (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] randomchris)

8. And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted / I know but too well what they mean --Begin the Beguine, Cole Porter [Trin likes the Sheryl Crow version] (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] etben)

9. Time’s tide will smother you / And I will too --That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, The Smiths (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] _inbetween_)

10. In starlit nights I saw you / So cruelly you kissed me --The Killing Moon, Echo & The Bunnymen (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch)

11. Nothing seems to penetrate my heart --Going Through the Motions, Buffy (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] slodwick)

12. I was there when they crucified my lord --When Love Comes to Town, U2 & B.B. King (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] inthekeyofd)

13. The good songs weren’t written for you, they’ll never be about you --American English, Idlewild (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] slodwick)

14. Love grows in me like a tumor --Fuck Was I, Jenny Owens Young (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] slodwick)

15. You speak of signs and wonders / But I need something other --Crumbs From Your Table, U2 (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] wychwood)

16. Say goodnight / She waits for me to put out the light --An Cat Dubh, U2 (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] the_acrobat)

17. Once I had a woman I could call my own / Once I had a woman now my woman she gone --Water of Love, Dire Straits (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84)

18. We will endeavor the same as ever / To stand for no shit whatsoever --A Call to Arms, The Ordinary Boys (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] soupytwist)

19. A love so sharp it cuts / Like a switchblade to my heart --She's a Mystery to Me, Roy Orbison (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] wychwood)

20. Open the doors that lead on into Eden / Don’t want no cheap disguise --Into the Fire, Sarah McLachlan (guessed by [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84)

...Bit of a trend there. Not my fault, iTunes was on random. *g*

•Awhile back, I promised to upload some more Dandy Warhols songs for somebody, but because there's a problem with my brain being missing, I forgot. Here are some now:

Sleep
Big Indian
Welcome to the Monkey House
I Am Sound

I have way more, but the files are all on my finicky old iPod, so I'll have to try to snag them later. Sorry for being such a spaz.

•Finally, Beware the Army of Pigs!

When did I ever say that Sting is hotter than the Hewlett? He doesn't even come close! The Hewlett is the Zeus of hotness; Sting (young Sting, wearing glasses Sting) is just a minor god.
