I'll never learn.
Jun. 1st, 2006 12:54 pmHi, remember me? I'm the girl who yesterday almost broke the backs of two strong young women schlepping books to the post office, and was then charged 219 euro to ship said books. And yet, when I saw that it was going to be impossible to get into the Trinity shop for a while because the place is cluttered up with tourists, what did I do? I went to my favorite used bookshop (the one near Sheppard's Hairdressing), and I bought books.
*facepalm*
In fairness, I only got The Secret History because everyone has been recommending it to me, and How Many Miles to Babylon? because
siriaeve recommended it to me. And I was very good and didn't snag the nice, cheap copies of The Alexandria Quartet (because I think my mom has it) or The Ambassadors (because I think I have it). I was totally reasonable, really!
*headdesk*
But I'm going to read them on the plane, so that makes it okay. Yes.
*eats ploughmans, thus accomplishing No. 9 on list*

I know (thank God!) that he's not reading this, but thank you, Dad!

You could add some totally fake items among the real ones! That'd give it an air of wacky fun!

Date: 2006-06-01 06:13 pm (UTC)Actually, the list sounded funky enough, but since I didn't get anything done it was too depressing.
I could strike half of them through right from the start to pretend. Like you and your croissants.
Should you still be here, I thought you left tonight!! o.0

Date: 2006-06-01 06:22 pm (UTC)I, personally, am ready to cry with frustration. My mam is making this huge fuss out of the whole thing, which I didn't want, which I have always stated that I didn't want, and is telling me that I'm ungrateful and bad mannered for not wanting this. I knew it was impossible for me to have a birthday which went well.

That's awesome. Hmm...the AU where John becomes a lawyer and runs into Julian Lodge... *eg*

Date: 2006-06-01 01:17 pm (UTC)You know, I think most people underestimate the problems that a book addiction can cause. Many a time I've thought of starting up a Bookaholics Anonymous, but then I figured it'd just devolve into a book discussion group, which would totally defeat the purpose.

Date: 2006-06-01 06:11 pm (UTC)I used to have a really cool book icon from The Neverending Story, but now I just have this one. They look like they could be reading, anyway!
