What a difference a year makes.

I can't believe this. A year ago yesterday, I posted my first SGA fic.

I can't believe that it's been only a year, and I can't believe that it's been an entire year.

I can't believe that this fandom has been so wonderful and responsive and encouraging of my work. I can't believe that I have written so many stories, or that they remain as poorly organized as they are. (Actually, I can believe that last one. *shame*)

I'm glad I found this place, and I'm glad I'm still here and that you're still here. If I were better organized, I would have arranged some anniversary story for you all, but (see above) organization is not my strong suit, so. I just want to say thank you. It's been a hell of a year, and I'll never forget it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go over here and be extremely verklempt.

I've been reading in this fandom for a lot less than a year, but you really blow my mind. SGA in general is so incredible-- before this fandom, I liked fic if it was good and had my ship and maybe a couple of my kinks; I expected it to entertain me.

But you blow my mind. So many of your stories are more engaging and more poignant than most published novels, and it's just amazing. I get all excited when you post new stuff, and I've gotta say, I like the disorganization. It's sort of a delicious treat; I've read everything on the fic page, but once in awhile someone'll rec or I'll find something that's not on there at all and it's just this fantastic surprise.

Um, mostly not. It's...weird. But if I do, on occasion, reread, I tend to be more comfortable with the funny stories rather than the serious ones. A good joke is a good joke—overblown prose just gets worse with age!

I had my first-year anniversary in SGA a months or so ago -- It's only the second of my many fandoms that I've stayed in for more than a few months at most. Definitely one of the most awesome places on the net.
