Things NOT to tell the cops when you call to report the assholes who start blasting punk music at 3:30 in the morning:

--I'm upset because they're going to ruin The Ramones for me forever.

--I'm so mad I could KILL someone.

Tell them that I will be there soon, and that I have connections to the Irish mob!

Or at least, that I have a very scary daddy who I'm sure will be more than happy to kick them inna head a la Kowalski just for you.

Yeah, there's something about the phrase "I just wanna _strangle_ them!" That makes their attention wander from the real situation at hand.

That blows, but yet is hilarious. What happened after the second remark?

But that would necessitate my OWNING some Celine Dion! The thought is almost too horrible to contemplate!

I assume you mean the music-blasters, not the cops. ;-)

But yeah. Damn do I wish I were just slightly more intimidating than the hulking she-beast you know me to be. Then maybe they would have listened!

*nods* Just a little. Police dispatchers apparently have no sense of humor at four o'clock in the morning.

Think of all the times they laughed it off, though...you don't make that mistake twice.

Well, nothing, really. But if the dispatcher and I had been face to face, or if my life were a movie and there was some clever intercutting, I would have been on the receiving end of total lack of amusement.

Should I change into something nicer than these pajamas? Am I going to be getting an "OPEN UP! THIS IS THE POLICE!" knock of my own soon?

Will the cops be cute?

LOL!

Actually, they usually are. We had to call 911 once for my mom and since she didn't seem to be dying on the spot, they sent firefighters.

VERY hard to keep my mind on the situation at hand after that.

Maybe they would have burst out laughing and said "Oh man, I get that ALL the time."

... yes, the bad neighbours, of course that's who I meant.

And you are very intimidating in real life, Trin! You know that you veritably tower over me, and that I cower whenever I am in your presence!

much sympathy from this part of the world. we had neighbors who pretty much ruined techno for us a few years back. the good news is that eventually I was able to listen again without my blood pressure going up.

do they sleep during the day at least?

Sixteen freakin' years and I still can't listen to Janis Joplin without breaking out in hives.

And I couldn't really call the cops because she was my landlord.

HIVES.
